You just never know...........

One day our sun will set, we will pass from here to eternity and while we have control over where we will spend eternity, heaven or hell, we have no control. naturally, over when or how we will pass. It is often said (at least by me), death holds no fear for me (I know where I'm going) it's the dying part I'm not looking forward to.

There is a scripture that says....

26 You will come to the grave in full vigour, like sheaves gathered in season. Job 5:26 New International Version

Going to your grave still full of vigour is what we all want and what Jean and I are praying and believing for, but what if it doesn't happen? will we still praise God? will we still believe that He is with us walking with us through the valley of the shadow of death? will we still believe as Paul says in 2 Corinthians 12 v 9 that God's grace is sufficient in the times of trials? Well one would have to hope so, otherwise our faith is worthless.

Recently one of our friends has been taken ill and has been diagnosed with CJD, they went to the hospital at Walton in Liverpool for further assesment, she was kept in and is now waiting to go to a hospice, the disease shuts down the brain's power to send signals to your body, you no longer know how to do anything and it is only a matter of time before you die. It is not how either of them envisioned their days together ending and only they know how well they will cope with the coming days, weeks and possibly months ahead. They will need God's grace, they will need to praise Him and give thanks in all circumstances, they will need to know God is walking through this with them, they will need to know that there is an eternity in heaven ahead for them, they are people of faith and they will get through it, will it be easy? no, but they will get through it, by the Grace of God.

How do you get through the tough times? where will your help and strength come from.

Psalm 121 A song of ascents.

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains –

where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of heaven and earth.
