You are not alone.

The Bible promises us that God will never leave you or forsake you, the above verse is from the Old Testament but in the New Testament we hear that Jesus confirms this fact when He says He will never forsake you.

Hebrews 13:5 New King James Version

5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Sometimes circumstances will try and tell us that we are on our own in this or that situation, but circumsatnces can lie. In the above picture the small boat seems to be far out at sea and all alone, the truth of the matter is it is only a couple of hundred yards from our house and a main road, and if that isn't reassuring enough it is probably less than 500 meters from the lifeboat station. The truth is Jesus is with you always, even if it doesn't seem so at the time, but you have to let Him, you have to believe in Him and you have to make Him your Lord and Saviour, yes He's your friend but firstly He must be your Lord. Then draw close to Him and He will draw close to you.

James 4:8 New King James Version

8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Most Christians can quote the above verse readily, but it's only half the verse, the rest of the verse, which I have rarely heard trip off the lips quite as readily, brings a challenge, the challenge to live in a way that honours God. Drawing near to God doesn't mean just calling on Him when we need Him, it means living the life He has called us to, proclaiming the Good News of Jesus by our words, our deeds and what's in our hearts and our minds.

James 4:8 New King James Version

8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
