When I get older, losing my hair. many years from now!

These are the first lines of a well known Beatles song, and for those of you who aren't already singing it and perhaps don't even know it, then the song is 'When I'm sixty-four'.

Written by Paul McCartney before he even knew his wife Linda, little did he know that she would never see sixty-four, she died at the age of 56, she had everything, family, money, fame and a famous husband who loved her. But she never seen 64.

Of my three brothers-in-law two of them never seen 64, one of them never even seen 34. One of my best friends died at 62 and while most of my close school mates are still living, one died at 50. Several boys in my year at school never made it out of their teens. I met one of their mothers when living back in Scotland about 2007, she still has to live with that everyday.

Life has no guarantees, not even tomorrow is guaranteed, but everyday is a chance to write a new page. Some, will be tragic, some will be happy, some will just be another day, but each day is a chance to write a story that will not just be another day, it is a chance to grow in adversity and rejoice in good times. No matter what age you are you must make the most of every chapter, every page, every line, because one day, there will be the last full stop and it will be the end. But it will only be the end in this world and the start of life in eternity but where will you spend it? If you believe and submit to a God who loves you and wants the best for you in every circumstance you will spend it in heaven.

John 3:16 New King James Version

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I am forever greatful God has given me a wife and a life worth living but I never take it for granted and each day I long to make sure I don't take Jean for granted, we're still writing our book, but we're well aware that tomorrow isn't guaranteed, but for us, as Christians, eternity, a good eternity, IS guaranteed.
