What's in your heart?

What does it mean 'think in your heart'. Yesterday I wrote about being careful what we put into our minds, but when we talk about what we put into our hearts it is at a much deeper level. Our minds are full of random information which we have put in over the years, sometimes on purpose, like education, learning skills etc and sometimes they are there by what we have carelessly listened to or watched. When we talk about what is in our hearts it is something we have chosen to believe, something we have chosen to meditate on and feed on, our faith and, if we chose to, our fears are seated in our hearts, Jesus tells us quite plainly that whatever comes out of our mouths comes from our hearts,

Matthew 15:18 New International Version

18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.

In the Bible we are told to guard our hearts.............

Proverbs 4:23 New International Version

23 Above all else, guard your heart,

for everything you do flows from it.

The best way to keep you heart and your mind right is to be in the Word of God, the Bible, and be listening in the Spirit to what God is saying, then out of our hearts will only come good things not bad, blessings not curses and we will live the abundant life Jesus promised us,

John 10:10 New King James Version

10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
