What have you got planned for today? and have you asked God about it?

Where are you off to today? Most of us will have some idea what we will be up to, our own 'to do list' and even some big plans. The Bible tells us it is good to have plans,

Luke 14:28 New King James Version

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—

Planning can, like in the instance above, save you embarrassment, when you run out of funds due to bad planning, it can save you time, it can save you exasperation, in fact there are many ways in which planning benefits us.

Today we have a particularly long list of 'to do's' which we will accomplish, God willing. But even within the things we want to do we have to be very aware that God has things for us to accomplish, we need to be flexible enough to let God direct us in the steps we take, we also need to be listening to God who may want to use something we do to glorify Him.

Matthew 5:16 New King James Version

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

We also have to be making sure we are listening to God for His plans and not just making up our own plans, for God's ways are above our ways.

Isaiah 55:8-9 New International Version

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,”

declares the Lord.

9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

and the guarantee of God's plan is that it is a good plan and it will give us our best life yet.

Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
