Power of the Tongue!

The tongue as most people know is a powerful weapon, for good and for bad. But the Bible goes even further and says it has the power of life and death, it then goes on to say those who love it will eat its fruit. This tells us that there are consequences to what we say and you will have to live with them unless you deal with it.

I still struggle with my quick reactions and my sour tongue that threatens my relationship with Jean, not all the time but once is too often, it happened only the other day. On Saturday night we listened to a preacher speaking on the power of our words, we can curse with them or we can bless with them, but it's our choice.

I repented of all and every negative word or any harsh tone used in my conversations with Jean and spoke a blessing over her. Now I have to choose to keep doing that in every occasion so that not only will Jean be blessed but I will 'eat the fruit of my words' and be blessed too.

What are you speaking over someone? Good or evil, blessing or curse? What are you speaking over yourself?

Numbers 6:24-26 New King James Version

24 “The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
