Love is..............

Love is........... fill in the blank, One of the biggest problems we have today is that we think we get to fill in the blank, whatever we want, whatever we like, is alright, if it feels good do it, nothing is off limits, wrong.

Christians will tell you that love is all the things that 1 Corinthians 13 tells us..........

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New King James Version

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails

and it is and the above is how we should aspire to live, but then you don't have to be a Christian to want to aspire to the above. being 'kind' is very 'in' and the world even thinks it invented it. What we should really be looking at is not trying to work out what love is but recognising that God is love and then figuring out what God is like and how we can follow His version of love, and His version of love is JESUS.

Follow Jesus, find God, find love, real love...........

John 3:16 New King James Version

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 13:34-35 New King James Version

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Matthew 22:36-40 New King James Version

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Matthew 5:43-48 New King James Version

Love Your Enemies

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

The 'love is' statements in 1 Corinthians 13 are important but the Bible tells us if you only apply them to those who love you back you are no different than anyone else.....

Today apply 'love is' to everyone you meet........... Be Jesus to the world.
