Jesus, still saves!

Jesus suffered the cross by choice, why? for the joy that was set before Him, what was that joy? you and me. The joy that we could be free from our past and live a new life full of joy, His joy. Our past doesn't need to be anything particularly bad or evil or dark for us to need the light, the light of Jesus, the Bible tells us all have sinned.

Romans 3:23 New King James Version

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

So what do we need to do to make ourselves right with God? well we can never do enough good works in and of ourselves but the Good News is Jesus has done it all. He went to the Cross to pay the price for our sins that we may be forgiven and start again, walking in the Light, the Light of Jesus, what we have to do is repent and believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. Turning from your old life and as Paul puts it putting on the new man (or woman).

Ephesians 4:21-24 New King James Version

21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

It can all start with a simple prayer,

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Saviour.

Then start reading your Bible every day, find a good Bible believing and teaching church and talk to Jesus (pray) every day and start walking in the Light, it's never too late, through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross we can still be saved.
