Dydd Dyrchafael

CROESO I EGLWYS DEWI SANT AM EIN GWASANAETH, EWCHARISTAIDD SANCTAIDO - DYDD DYRCHAFAEL, announced the service sheet for our service last night.

Some words I am getting to recognise, welcome, church, david, saint, service (Gwasanaeth, we see this at the side of the A55) and even Eucharist and Holy were easy enough to recognise, then there was Dydd - day, but Dyrchafael? well it had to mean Ascension as that was the service we were there for, but even when translated to English what does Ascenion Day mean?

Ascension Day is when we off the Christian face celebrate the day Jesus ascended into heaven, Ascension, it is marked on the 40th day after his Resurrection (Easter being reckoned as the first day), this year that was the 9th May. Christ's ascension into heaven is one of the cornerstones of the Christian Faith and therefore deserves to be celebrated and Praise Given to our Lord, and another chance to particpate in Ewcharistaidd Sanctaido, as we remeber sacrifice Jesus paid to give us life, and more abundantly!

Acts 1:9 New King James Version

Jesus Ascends to Heaven

9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
