There's more to the seaside than just throwing rocks in the sea! You can always use them to build an Ebenezer.

1 Samuel 7:12 New King James Version

12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

Piles of stones like this take a lot of concentration, especially for a five and an eight year old, but they did well. It involves picking just the right stones and getting the right balance.

I think ten was the record, not bad at all.

When we walked the Camino de Santiago we often came across little piles of stones like these and we were reminded of when Samuel took a stone, called it Ebenezer, saying 'Thus far the Lord has helped us.'

It was appropriate on the 1st of the year that we were building Ebenezers, reminding us that 'Thus far the Lord has helped us,' and it also helps reminds us that God has a calling for us and that He is with us and will continue to help us in what He calls us to do through 2024. Praise God!

Matthew 28:19-20 New King James Version

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
