A Peculiar People!

When you are part of the chosen generation the Bible says 'you are a peculiar people'. If you are a Christian you will come across as peculiar to the world around you and the world around you should seem peculiar to you. Other translations of the Bible put it as we are 'God's own possession'.

To be God's own possesion you will have to live by His standards and His ways and let's face it, to the people pushing their agendas of ever changing standards, Christians must seem a peculiar people. We are called to be people who stand for never changing values, where right is right and wrong is wrong, where males are males and females are females and never the two shall meet, especially sexually. But what is even more worrying is tha we are considered peculiar when we say once a man (or woman) always a man (or woman), that used to be just common sense, now it makes us peculiar. We live in a more and more perverted society, one in which I say 'Praise God I am peculiar.'

Peculiar -different to what is normal or expected; strange.

I pray for the day when the church stops trying to be acceptable to a world that lives by different values and starts being there for those who want to change and live by God's values.

Matthew 6:24 Good News Translation

God and Possessions

24 “You cannot be a slave of two masters; you will hate one and love the other; you will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

You cannot follow God's ways and man's ways.

Jesus didn't die for us to stay the same, Jesus didn't die so we could change our values to be accepted, Jesus died to cleanse us from sins and set us free to a new life in Christ, and He rose again to prove He has the final victory over sin, sickness and death, a victory that belongs to us, the peculiar people.
